Here’s my updated curation of blogs and newsletters and other resources for regular content on the topic of Quantum Computing. When I first shared this, it was more out of personal interest, and over the years it’s become a reference for others getting into or keeping up with the sector.
More recently it’s become a reminder that there is indeed a lot of options for both regularly posted and longtail/evergreen content in this area. This is becoming increasingly important as we see social media filling with AI bots, or just crumbling under various waves of cultural shifts that swirl around the business of online media. This little blog of mine, for example, which exists only as a way to capture ideas quickly and without worrying about them being perfect or fulling formed, already (in one way or another) dates longer than my old Twitter account. Long live words on a page.
Blogs from the community#
Quantum compouting blogs are a little thinner on the ground than one might have hoped. At one end are commercially minded sites that operate as high volume publishers of press releases and increasingly “AI-assisted” coverage. An importaqnt part of the ecosystem but at times problematic. At the other end of the spectrum are individuals writing about their domains of expertise on very irregular schedules. Here’s a few of either end.
- Scott Aaronson’s Shtetl-optimized blog is a classic, and a must-read in this field.
- Minimum Viable Paragraph offers (amongst other topics) quantum computing content from a technical product manager working in quantum computing.
Newsletters#
There’s a lot of newsletters bouncing around on the topic of quantum computing. The ones I keep an eye on are those written by peers in the industry proper. I wish there were more like this, where a practitioner digs into topics with nuance and shares their context, rather than simply cross-posting whatever articles are being posted elsewhere. The latter serves a useful purpose perhaps, but deeper dives and insights from areas of the industry that I don’t work in are always more valuable to me. So respect to these.
- Sergio Gago’s Quantum Pirates newsletter is one of the best weekly summary efforts.
- Product in Deep is ostensibly about Deep Tech product strategy and insights, but skews heavily towards quantum computing.
Video collections#
These are dominated by YouTube as a distribution channel. While the status quo of quantum content on Youtube is terrible at best, there’s some exceptional offerings from industry experts that pokes through the nonsense. Check out the following.

- the Qiskit channel on YouTube is great, and the quantum information series from John Watrous is particularly excellent.

Social Media#
The quality of quantum computing conversations on social media is not great. Especially in the time that I’m writing this at the start of 2025, where the stock market manipulation toward the end of 2024 saw a flood of speculators falling into the various channels.
